WA:Forrest says Gillard in WA over tax

Mining magnate ANDREW FORREST has accused Prime Minister JULIA GILLARD of making a
dash to Western Australia to try to shore up votes because of the "broken" resources tax.

The Fortescue Metals Group chief executive says he's invited Ms GILLARD to join an
open discussion on the planned mineral resources rent tax and its impact on jobs and investment
in Australia.

The prime minister made a lightning visit to Perth .. spending a few hours in marginal
electorates this morning .. but Mr FORREST isn't impressed and he's called on the government
to clarify details of the tax.

Mr FORREST refused to say which way he would vote .. but he's urged Western Australians
to be very careful.
